Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Kshetrapal Cancer Center provides precise and effective cancer treatment using advanced radiation technology.
We are equipped with the state-of-the-art Elekta Dual Energy Linear Accelerator (LINAC) — the most advanced radiation system in the region — delivering high-precision therapy while minimizing side effects.
Our Radiation Oncology unit treats a wide range of cancers, including:
- Mouth and neck cancers
- Lung cancer
- Breast cancer
- Cancers of the food pipe (esophagus), stomach, intestines, rectum, and anus
- Liver, pancreas, and salivary gland cancers
- Kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, and testicular cancers
- Female-related cancers (ovarian, uterine, cervical)
- Muscle and bone tumors (sarcomas)
- Brain tumors
- Skin cancers
- Childhood cancers
Our department provides advanced radiation therapy for both curative and palliative care, depending on cancer type and stage.
External Beam Radiation Therapy
Uses high-energy X-rays from the Elekta Dual Energy LINAC to target and destroy cancer cells with millimeter-level accuracy.
Advanced Techniques
We offer multiple precision-based treatment methods for optimal tumor control and minimal normal tissue exposure:
- 3DCRT (Three-Dimensional Conformal Radiation Therapy) – Shapes radiation beams to match the tumor.
- IMRT (Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy) – Delivers variable intensity to different tumor regions for better precision.
- IGRT (Image-Guided Radiation Therapy) – Uses real-time imaging for daily accuracy in tumor targeting.
- VMAT (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy) – Delivers radiation in a single, continuous arc, reducing treatment time and improving comfort.
